Ehrung der Swiss Barakah Charity in Libanon

Honoring of Swiss Barakah Charity in Lebanon

News

Honoring of Swiss Barakah Charity in Lebanon Honoring of Swiss Barakah Charity in Lebanon Honoring of Swiss Barakah Charity in Lebanon On May 31, 2025, the organization Swiss Barakah Charity (SBC) was invited as an honorary guest to the graduation ceremony of Cadmous College in southern Lebanon. The invitation was made in recognition of the significant humanitarian work that SBC has been carrying out in the region for years. We are particularly known there for our commitment to humanitarian aid and social support. Cadmous College, a Christian educational institution with an interfaith character, traditionally honors outstanding individuals or institutions that have rendered exceptional service to the community. The school is characterized by respectful and inclusive interaction among students and staff of various religious backgrounds. The ceremony took place in a dignified setting. Among the attendees were representatives of various social groups, including the military commander in southern Lebanon, UNIFIL forces, Christian priests, Muslim imams, and local political figures. The symbolic presence of these diverse guests reflected the intercultural and interfaith spirit of the event. A deeply moving moment for us was the touching start of the ceremony, when church bells and the muezzin’s call to prayer rang out simultaneously. This powerful symbol of peaceful and respectful coexistence remains vividly in our memory. In his speech, Mohamad Ajami, CEO of Swiss Barakah Charity, emphasized the great importance of social responsibility. He directly addressed the graduating students, calling on them to actively stand up for their fellow human beings and take responsibility for society. Especially in times of global challenges, it is crucial to show solidarity and build bridges across cultural and religious boundaries. It was a great honor for us to be part of this moving and deeply inspiring celebration. We were especially impressed to see how the graduates look to the future with strength, courage, dreams, gratitude, and mindfulness. Their speeches were filled with hope and confidence—again and again, the sentence was heard: “Don’t be afraid of big dreams. You can achieve anything, nothing is impossible.” In a country marked by war and unrest, this message is far from a given. It is a sign of hope that is ever-present in the younger generation. SBC was praised in several speeches for its tireless efforts during times of crisis, particularly in Lebanon. We understand this honor as a sign of appreciation and an encouragement to continue our work in the service of humanity. Our participation in this ceremony once again highlights the bridge-building role that SBC plays between different communities and sends a strong message of cooperation, respect, and solidarity across cultural and religious boundaries.

Giving Hope: Distribution of Food and School Backpacks in Malaysia

Giving Hope: Distribution of Food and School Backpacks in Malaysia

News

Giving Hope: Distribution of Food and School Backpacks in Malaysia Giving Hope Giving Hope: Distribution of Food and School Backpacks in Malaysia As part of the ongoing global humanitarian efforts by Barakah Charity, we carried out a successful distribution campaign in several communities in Malaysia. The aim was to support families in need with food supplies and bring joy to children by giving them new school backpacks. Living Conditions and Challenges Poverty has worsened in Malaysia in recent years, particularly due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and rising living costs. Refugees are especially affected. Over 100,000 Rohingya refugees currently live in Malaysia, making up around 60% of all UNHCR-registered refugees and asylum seekers in the country. Most reside in Kuala Lumpur under precarious conditions without formal refugee status, education, healthcare, legal employment, or basic services. In addition to the Rohingya, Malaysia also hosts refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, and Sri Lanka. These groups make up about 12% of the registered refugees. They too often lack legal status and rely on humanitarian aid. Food for Families in Need Due to the economic challenges many Malaysian families face, we put together aid packages with essential food items – rice, oil, flour, canned goods, and hygiene products – for both local people and refugees. Over 1,000 families in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur were reached through this campaign. Our team handed out the packages personally, with a focus on respectful and dignified treatment. We received warm welcomes; many locals took pictures with us. Numerous families expressed deep gratitude – this support makes a real difference in their daily lives. This gratitude is for you, dear donor. Backpacks for the Future Another focus was supporting children from low-income families. In collaboration with local communities, we distributed hundreds of high-quality backpacks filled with school supplies and hygiene products. For many children, it was the first time they had their own new backpack – a small step that greatly boosts motivation and self-esteem. The colorful backpacks lit up their faces with joy. In a small room used as a learning space for Rohingya children – lacking child-friendly facilities and with poor sanitation – such joy becomes especially meaningful because moments like these are so rare. Stronger Together This initiative would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors. Your donations had a direct impact and brought hope to many. We will continue to support disadvantaged communities in Malaysia – with heart, action, and a clear goal: a fairer world for all. Donate Now!Your donation makes a difference. Support education, protection, and social aid in Malaysia – every bit counts.

Eröffnung des Bildungszentrums in Marokko

Opening of the education center in Morocco

News

Opening of the education center in Morocco Opening of the education center in Morocco Opening of the education center in Morocco The journey from Marrakech was long and arduous. Mountain roads centimetres away from the abyss, ankle-high water and stony stretches. We drive to Imindounit, which translates as the end of life, the end of the world. This is where the Amazigh village, which was badly damaged by the earthquake, is located – literally at the end of the world.Shortly before the last narrowing of the road between two mountains in the huge and majestic Atlas Mountains, we have to leave the smaller support vehicle of our two-man tandem behind. Some of our team have to walk 1.5 km from here. No one drives past by chance, the place is not on any route where you would accidentally end up and, to be honest, we wonder how it is even known that there are people here – people live so far away from the action. There, at the “end of the world”, Swiss Barakah Charity has opened a center – a place for education and social life. From now on, the Amazigh community’s center will provide children with tutoring and adults will be able to shape the social life of the village. In beautiful, clean, bright and cool rooms with sanitary conditions in keeping with human dignity. We are received in the Imindounit with dates and milk, with singing, food and an abundance of joy and gratitude. This expression of gratitude belongs to you, dear donor. You have thought of people in need and made life easier for many people far away with your donation. You can continue to help people in Morocco with your donation. Link here.
